My love of photography came as an unexpected surprise during my degree in Communications. I started out wanting to be a journalist and within my first year everything changed. Who would want to write about an event when you could photograph it!

Those were the darkroom days and where I really found my passion. After a few years of alternate processes, where I printed photographs onto everything from teaspoons to fabric, I completed an Honours year in Fine Art Photography. During this time I had the pleasure of printing on fibre-based papers and selenium toning my prints bliss!

University eventually moved over for travel and in Japan I spent a year learning my craft from a Professional Photographer in Tokyo. It was a totally different world from university. Having just mastered a medium format film camera, the photography world turned upside down and went digital! But that’s what I love about photography, it’s always changing!

The past 7 years of photography have been an amazing journey of meeting many wonderful people and having the privilege of documenting them. I love to photograph people, whether it’s their wedding day, with loved ones, children, family, or at any of the memorable events life throws at us.

I really feel blessed to be able to do what I do! There will always be new people to meet, new techniques and styles to capture, as well as my own personal dreams to follow. With photography it’s a lifestyle choice. As for life outside photography, I keep it very simple there’s me, my man, my cat and now my dog it’s all a girl needs.

Life is always busy with home renovations etc, but if there is a free moment, it’s shared with friends over great music, wine and food.
