The photography part of the equation, I discovered in 1996 when I received my very first camera on the week of my wedding. The sole purpose of the camera was to photograph “fishing images” to be submitted to magazines for publication with my articles. I used to be a mad keen fisho and was published in a number of magazines including Modern Fishing, Freshwater Fishing, Fishing World and Fishing Monthly.
The photography became more of an obsession than the writing and it wasn’t long before I was assisting a local photographer and booking my very first wedding. From here the business was born and I have never looked back. To this day, I still love shooting weddings, I love photography and I love the fact that Impact Images is regarded as the best studio to go to for amazing wedding photography on the Coast. We never take our position for granted and continue to improve our service, our skills and the experience we deliver to our clients.
The family part of my life is something that I’m grateful for every day I have an amazing wife, Linda, who is an integral part of Impact Images, a mother like no other to my two growing boys (both of which will be in high school next year) and someone I can truly call my best friend in the world. No need to go into any more here as it’ll all start too sound a little to soppy.
Lastly, my outlet and my sports cycling and skiing. I was introduced to cycling a few years ago by a good mate (whose wedding I photographed ten years ago) and have been hooked ever since. I used to be one of those drivers that despised road cyclists and now find myself out there on the roads. Any spare time I have is dedicated to training to race at local, state and national level as well as just keeping fit and healthy. My love for the sport has grown and I have been lucky enough to experience the Tour de France which was spectacular and spectacularly tough as I was able to cycle the climbs of some of the major mountains of the tour. I can’t wait to get back again!
Skiing has become more of a passion later in life and especially rewarding now as it has become an annual holiday with my boys. I was lucky enough to experience skiing in Japan and America in the past and can’t wait to experience more of that!
All in all, life is awesome. I love my family, I love my life and I love my work. I hope I get the chance to share some of it with you.
