Commercial: Vibrant Sam

To say that I have a fun job is an understatement! What makes it so much fun… simply, the people I get to photograph. Sam Woods and her Vibrant Concepts team are regular clients of mine and each time they book a shoot, I know there’ll be plenty of laughs, some great looks and some cool photography and this shoot was no different.

News: APPA Awards for Impact

Recently in Sydney, the national and highly coveted awards for photographers known as the APPA’s were hosted by the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP).  Although I didn’t get there in person this year, both Natalie and Ash were there to witness the print  judging in person and to see both Natalie and I receiving awards for our entries.

Wedding: Pete & Kim

If anyone were to ask me the best time of year for a wedding, I’d pick autumn every time. Why? The colours are amazing, the temperatures are perfect, the days short enough to get the best light for photography and the evenings are cool enough for everyone to enjoy the warmth of a beautiful reception.

Although Pete and Kim didn’t seek my advice for timing, this was not only the season of choice for their wedding but the theme also.

Portfolio: Karli

This was a fun shoot – Karli, who is new to the Central Coast, a highly accredited gym instructor and ex-gymnist was after some photos for herself with the chance of some modelling work in the future and needed some images when approaching an agency. The shoot was very relaxed with plenty of laughs and although most images were shot in the studio, we made the most of the autumn colours for a few images.

Wedding: Jo & Marty

The Hunter Valley put on a stunning day for Jo and Marty’s wedding. The kind of weather that shows why more and more couples are choosing to have May weddings in the Valley.

The golden leaves, blue skies and slightly cooler weather are perfect conditions for a celebration!

Portrait: Lynette, Nathan & Girls

This was a beautiful portrait shoot with a beautiful family. I’m not going to add much more but hope you enjoy the photos. The image at the top of the post is now framed and hanging in their home and I am 100% certain that anytime the family or any of Nathan and Lynette’s friends see it, they won’t be able to hold back a smile. How can you not be drawn into the happiness these images show.

Family: Good Times in Adelaide

I was sorting and cataloguing some images when I came across a few photos that I wanted to share. I am always going on about how important photos are and the amount of joy that images, especially of our loved ones can bring. Below are a few of these special photos to me – photos that instantly bring a smile to my face and literally warm me from the inside.

News: A Cover with Impact

Each year, the staff from Newcastle Central Coast Wedding Magazine go in search of a cover image that will grab attention amongst the great choice on the newsagents stands. This request goes out to all photographers and for the 2nd time in recent years a photo taken by Impact Images was chosen for this annual edition.

Wedding/Portfolio/E-shoot/Practice… ?

This is a tough shoot to categorise as Tara and Jo are actually a couple and are engaged to be married in 2012 so I guess it was an e-session but it doubled as a shoot for Kelly from Kel-Leigh Couture to photograph a couple of her new gowns. I also had the chance to be very selfish and choose the location and style of images to shoot – basically a bit of a play with some new equipment before bringing it out at a real wedding.

Wedding: Sascha & Peter

Wow – this wedding was an absolute knockout!

I had never met Peter and Sascha before their wedding day due to their busy lifestyle and my unavailability on the weekend and this is usually a concern for me as I have to work on building some trust and rapport right from the get go. I needn’t have worried one little bit – what an awesome couple with truly great friends.

Wedding: Sarah-Jane & Nathan

Newcastle-wedding-photographer_045Caves Beach is fast becoming the ultimate wedding venue. Every time I go there the venue is just getting better and better, there are always new and exciting places to shoot. The staff are second to none –  not only do the wedding guests get well looked after but so do the hard working photographers! Thanks to the awesome crew there.
